From the minutes of Chorley Councils meeting last week it would appear that some areas around Chorley are going to get some new or upgraded facilities for children.
In the meeting several grant applications were considered and he following are of particular interest to parents.
In Heskin - the Meadows play Area has been granted funds for new equipment and new suface.
In Charnock Richard – the Mossie Close play area has been granted funds for new equipment and surface work.
In Euxton – the development of a new Skate park -for skate boarders, bmx riders and skaters has been granted. This is great news for Euxton as it does not have a lot for older kids to do generally and would also give the kids of local areas access to these facilities.
In Wheelton – the play zone in Meadow Street has obtained partial funding for new play equipment.
In Bretherton – the Rec Ground and play area has been granted funds to replace existing play equipment and re-surface play areas – it also notes that the current equipment is over 20 years old but still well maintained!
Other grants have been awarded to various sports facilities and some refurbishment projects as well.
